Love Language Test
This test scores all five categories and shows you every number, not only the winner. That matters here: the gap between first and second place is often small enough to be noise, and one label would claim a precision the framework does not have. Full result on this page, no email, no account.
Take the love language test
6 min25 statements, about 6 minutes. Answer for how things usually are, not for how they were on your worst week. Your full result appears the moment you finish.
How this test is scored
Twenty-five statements, five for each category, answered on a five-point scale. The points for each category are added separately, so every category ends with its own score and you see all five side by side. The highest one is named at the top, but the numbers underneath it are the actual result.
When the top two scores land within two points of each other, the test says so instead of picking a winner. Two points is one answer moved by two levels — a gap that small flips the order from one day's mood, and presenting it as a finding is the most common way tests like this mislead people.
What the five categories are and are not
Words of affirmation, acts of service, quality time, physical touch and receiving gifts come from Gary Chapman's 1992 book, written out of counselling experience rather than research. They are a popular vocabulary for talking about what registers as care, and they are genuinely useful for that.
They are not a validated psychological typology. Independent work testing the five-factor structure has produced mixed results, and the claim that partners who share a category are happier has weaker support than its popularity suggests. The five categories page goes through the evidence. Read your result as a way into a conversation, not as a measurement.
When a love language is the wrong explanation
This framework helps when two people care about each other and express it differently. It does not help when the problem is an absence of care, contempt, or fear, and treating those as a translation problem tends to keep people explaining away things that deserve a different response.
If that is closer to your situation, the categories are not the place to start — crisis and support resources are.
Where the questions come from
The twenty-five statements are Blubee's own, written for this test. Chapman's book names the five categories but does not publish a questionnaire under an open licence, so nothing here is taken from it — the categories are the borrowed part, the items are not. That also means published results about his quiz say nothing about scores here.
Questions people ask
5 answersWhat are the five love languages
The five are words of affirmation, acts of service, quality time, physical touch and receiving gifts. Gary Chapman proposed them in a 1992 book after years of counselling work. They are a popular framework for talking about preferences, not a validated psychological typology.
Can you have more than one love language
Most people score meaningfully on several. That is why this test shows all five numbers rather than announcing one winner: a two-point gap between first and second place is not a real difference, and the test says so when your top two are close.
Is this the official love languages quiz
No. The questions here are written by Blubee, not taken from Chapman's questionnaire, and the result is scored differently. The five category names are ordinary descriptive terms and are used as such; the branded quiz belongs to its publisher.
Do love languages actually predict happier relationships
The evidence is thinner than the popularity suggests. Independent studies examining whether partners sharing a language predicts satisfaction have produced mixed results, and the five-category structure itself has been questioned. Treat a result as vocabulary for a conversation.
When is a love language the wrong explanation
When the problem is not a mismatch in how care is expressed but an absence of care, or contempt, or fear. No preference framework fixes those, and reading them as a translation problem tends to keep people in situations that need a different response.
